Huawei Y9 2019 appeared at TENAA a while back, but we only had the phone images and no specs. Today, there’s more information, and maybe that’s what most Y-series fans want to hear.
TENAA has now listed a phone spec sheet with just about everything we need to know. Of course, there is still no official confirmation from this Huawei Y9 2019, but we believe that the JKM-AL00 model is the successor to Y9 2018.
Huawei Y9 2019 specifications
- Screen TFT 6.5 inch 19.5: 9 DHF + (2340 x 1080)
- 2.2 GHz octa-core processor
- 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM
- 64 GB or 128 GB expandable storage
- Dual Master Camera 20MP + 2MP
- 16MP front camera
- 3900mAh battery
- Android 8.1 Oreo
- 162.4 x 77.1 x 8.05 mm, 173 g
From the standpoint of specifications, the JKM-AL00 looks very much like Honor 8X. The latter has the same screen size and resolution, memory options and camera combination. However, the measures and weight of the alleged Huawei Y9 2019 show that it is only slightly higher, wider and thicker than the Honor 8X, but despite promising a slightly higher battery of 3900mAh compared to the 3700mAh unit of the 8X, the Y9 2019 is slightly lighter at 173g compared to 175g from the 8X.
Regarding software, the user gets the same Android 8.1 Oreo, but we still can not be certain whether the 2.2GHz octa-core chipset on the JKM-AL00 is the same as the Kirin 710 used in Honor 8X, but looks likely. TENAA has recently published images of this device, and from what we have seen, it seems that there is a second lens on the front camera.
When the Huawei Y9 2019 is officialized, it will be available in the variants of color Black, Gold, Pink, and Purple. As for when this will happen, it should be next month.
