According to the forecast of IDC analysts, the world expenses for the supplemented and virtual reality (AR / VR) in the period from 2017 to 2022 will grow by an average of 71.6%. In the current year, these expenditures will reach $ 27 billion, which is 92% more than in 2017.
In the foreseeable future, the most spending will fall on the consumer industry – by 2022 the corresponding amount will increase to 53 billion dollars. All other industries together will have $ 56 billion. In this case, the dominant use of AR / VR in 2018 will be a virtual reality in games.
Most of the money is spent on devices that play the role of hosts: up to $ 10 billion in 2018. The cost of software VR reached this year 5.7 billion dollars.
Regarding distribution by region, this year the most funds for AR / VR will be spent in China. Analysts call the sum of $ 10.2 billion.
