At the IFA 2018 in Berlin, Sony introduced the new flagship Xperia XZ3. It will replace XZ2, presented in February at the Mobile World Congress. This will be the first smartphone with a working Android Pie right out of the box.
In Xperia XZ3 there is an OLED screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 and an aspect ratio of 18: 9. It occupies 80% of the area of the front side. Sony has implemented the function Always On Display: the screen in the locked state displays time, date, notifications, player and any picture selected by the user.
The main camera is 19 megapixels, and the front camera is 13. Both support 3D Creator technology, which allows to scan people’s faces and make 3D models of them. To shoot slow-motion video on the main camera Xperia XZ3 can with a frequency of 960 frames per second. The maximum resolution of the survey is 4K HDR.
Inside the smartphone will “sweat” Snapdragon 845. RAM 4 GB, and built-in – 64 GB. All this is powered by a 3330 mAh battery with support for wireless and fast charging. The fingerprint reader is located on the back panel.
Not without a standard set of communication modules: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. You can connect to a computer or charge XZ3 via a Type-C cable. About the NFC module is also not forgotten. The case is made of aluminium and glass Gorilla Glass 5. In addition, the XZ3 has two speakers and, according to Sony, it is louder than its predecessor by 20%.
In stores, the phone will appear in September and will be available in four colours: black, white, green and burgundy.
