It will be polyamide
According to new information, the first Samsung folding smartphone, which is more often now called Galaxy F, will not use Gorilla Glass to protect the display.
This is due precisely to design features in which such material is not suitable.
Instead of glass, a transparent polyimide, developed by the Japanese company Sumitomo Chemical, will be used. While there are no data on its physical properties, it can be assumed that it will be scratched more than the usual protective glass.
It is reported that Corning already has material suitable for folding smartphones, but apparently, Samsung does not like it.
