Bose introduces Home Speaker 500 for music, as well as the Bose Soundbar 700 and Soundbar 500 for music and home theater.
Bose introduces a new wireless speaker and two new soundbars: the Bose Home Speaker 500 for music, and the Bose Soundbar 700 and Soundbar 500 for music and home theater. Each of these devices will feature speech recognition through Amazon Alexa and will soon also support other voice assistants, as well as from early 2019 Apple AirPlay 2 for streaming Apple devices.
Bose’s new Smart Speakers and Soundbars have been designed from the ground up and use the proprietary microphone technology of Bose headsets and headphones to better hear commands even at loud listening levels. With built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Alexa, they provide instant, easy access to millions of songs and countless options for information, entertainment, smart home control and more. They work just as well alone as together as a multi-room system. The new devices will be available from October 2018.
Bose Home Speaker 500
The Bose Home Speaker 500 (available in silver and black) has a comprehensive sound. It is wrapped in seamless anodized aluminum, is only about 20.3 cm high x 16.9 cm wide x 10.9 cm deep, and uses two custom drivers pointing in opposite directions. Thus, the sound reflects off the surrounding walls, separating the instruments to the left and right and placing the vocals where the artist has done it. The result should be powerful and lifelike, with no artificial effects or distortions. And if the touch operation is preferred or the phone is out of range, the basic functions of the device can also be controlled by buttons on the housing.
Bose Soundbar 700 and Soundbar 500
The Bose Soundbar 700 is designed to combine performance with design. At just over 5,7 cm high, 10,8 cm deep and 98 cm long, she wants to convince with curved, clear lines, a surrounding metal grid and a hardened glass plate. Inside there are several BOSE techniques: PhaseGuides sends several channels of a soundtrack or song through the room, placing the sound where no speakers are. DSP, custom low-profile converters and QuietPort technology are also designed to bring more detail and depth to favorite songs, as well as better dialogues on Netflix and a realistic sound in sports broadcasts. To control the TV or other connected devices, the Bose Soundbar 700 is equipped with universal remote control.
Like the Soundbar 700, the Soundbar 500 allows you to switch from audio for video to music seamlessly. With a height of about 4.4 cm x 10.2 cm depth and a length of slightly less than 81 cm, it is smaller, narrower, has a subtle, matte finish and thus fits almost invisibly under a TV screen.
The two new soundbars use Bose’s proprietary, multi-year ADAPTiQ technology to adapt to the environment and the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) for compatibility with future technologies. They can also be wall-mounted or extended with a wireless bass module and rear speakers for 5.1 sound.
