A month ago, IDC, an analytical company, announced that for the first time Huawei outperformed Apple in smartphone sales in the world and ranked second in the market. Now this conclusion was confirmed by Gartner, which just summed up the results of the second quarter of the international smartphone market in 2018.
Sales of smartphones Huawei increased by 38.6% compared to a year ago and reached 49.84 million units with a market share of 13.3%. Apple’s sales increased slightly from 44.31 million to 44.71 million, but the market share decreased from 12.1% to 11.9%.
The first place is occupied by Samsung with a share of 19.3% and sales volumes at the level of 72.33 million. However, in comparison with the last year, its results worsened – in the second quarter it sold 82.85 million smartphones and reached a share of 22.6 %. The fourth and fifth places are occupied by Chinese manufacturers Xiaomi and Oppo from 32.82 million / 8.8% and 28.51 million and 7.6%.
As for the operating systems, only 329.5 million Android-smartphones, 44.71 million iPhones and 112.1 million smartphones based on other OS were sold in just a quarter.
