Review # 1
My impressions after four weeks of using Huawei P8. Bought, while on a business trip to China.
What do you like:
- Assembly. Quality. Highly.[hide]HUAWEI P8 REVIEWS[/hide]
- Metal! It’s nice to feel.
- Weight is optimal, not heavy and not too light.
- For a phone with a very large screen 5.2 “- ergonomic, dimensions are very convenient for active work.
- Design. Actually, because of him and bought. Huawei P8 looks stylish, solid. Its design comes from Sony Z with mixing of Apple design elements. But in the end I like this design more than that of Sony and Apple. I bought the device in color Champagne. The color of the gold looked more like a glamorous phone, but the Chinese simply did not sell it (bought in China while physically there), but the Bluetooth headset was squared for +300 CNY to it (from the standard price of 3588CNY), and then Gold could be bought.
- Screen. The colors are good, juicy. Brightness is enough, but for a comfortable level, you must set at least 60% in the room. Auto-tuning of brightness is not bad, but in low light often “misses”. In the sun, the Eran is tolerable, but full brightness is needed (100%). There are no questions on viewing angles and color rendition.
- Speed. For four weeks, no problems were noticed. Everything is pretty smooth, there are almost no slowdowns (I must note that in heavy, and indeed in any games I do not play). Very rarely noticed that there are very small “mini-lags”. In this gallery with a few thousand openings opens and flips almost instantly
- Software (Off. Firmware B161) 5/5. Has got used to a principle of desktops (to me well familiar on various version MIUI and NubiaUI) and scattered all superfluous on folders. Many successful “amenities” – for example, detailed energy consumption statistics, including the consumption in mA for each application, like different pictures when unlocked, messages when the screen is locked, etc. In general, it is worth saying that now for me the company’s EMUI interface is one of the best. Nowhere I have seen so much care about the user. You do not need to climb the market in search of optimizers, file managers, archivers, energy-saving devices and other auxiliaries. All this is its own.
- Good camera, BUT: the darker, the more noise. But without noise in the dark cameras are clearly not telephone. For its purposes and tasks, the camera is excellent.
- The sound of the Huawei P8 is good – both from external speakers and in headphones. I just would like to have engineers either put 2 speakers, or they found a place so that the speaker is not accidentally dumped by a finger;)
- The function of cutting the screen image with a knuckle of a finger (for me it’s really convenient)
- There is no excess garbage in the software (except Google)
- Resolution settings for running programs in the background
What you do not like:
- As in Huawei P8 implemented notifications on the screen lock.
- The size. Might be less. Shirokov for sure grip
- For my ears, they are gigantic, do not wield
- The strange sound of the phone speaker during a conversation. A rattling or what? I hope it does not fall off. With the service of Huawei does.
- The film on the screen, gets dirty, for me, it remains a mystery why put a super fashion glass, and on top of the film.
- Not complete localization of the firmware, not only is it updated frequently, so it was not possible to completely get rid of the Chinese Labuda,
- I understand this model GRA UL-10 will be only for the domestic market, respectively, in new firmware gaps will not be sewn
- In my version, the factory did not have a film. I had to universal glue
- Still, I add to the shortcomings of the brightness of the screen in the sun.
- Energy intensity. Here I have the biggest claim to the device. On “paper” the battery is not small (2680mA). For screen 5.2 and resolution FHD is not bad (although of course, 3000mA would be generally good, why make it so thin, would add 1.5mm of thickness, but the battery would be more usable in the case), but apparently, the optimization is lame.
In sleep mode (all networks are on), it loses about 1% per hour. It’s a bit much. My previous LG G Pro and ZTE Nubia Z9 mini lost by the percentage in 3-4 hours). Without the root of the Wakelock detector, you will not start, I can judge only by the usual statistics of the battery – about a third leaves for Cell Standby (4G is disabled, 2G / 3G auto mode is enabled).
I made a web browser test – at a comfortable brightness (all networks are included, the Internet through WaiFay) in Chromium every 30 seconds the page reloads. from 84% to 48% the phone worked 2h 38m (seeing that the expense is always linear, just stopped the test), ie a full charge with this mode will last for 7 hours with a small tail. Nubia (with a slightly smaller screen and a slightly larger battery) stood for 10 hours.
Whatsup in the background (and if you kill it when the screen turns off, then there’s no point and use), too, for some reason it’s pretty voracious (none of this was the case).
In my average mode (a day – about an hour of music, a few phone calls, a little web browsing and a little Whatsup) is enough for two days. But when you need an intensive regime, I’m not sure that it’s enough for the whole day.[hide]HUAWEI P8 REVIEWS[/hide]
Outcome:
the Huawei P8 has no problems with the screen, with the assembly, with the marriage, with autonomy, with performance, with sound, with the camera. Fixed defects in the previous model Huawei P7. I knew about them, but stayed in the ranks of Huawei, because I saw, after reading reviews, that the company is moving forward and improving the model. And I do not regret it at all. How I do not regret that I do not buy Sony phones anymore. All P8 indicators are at a level above the average. There are no distortions. That in the sum gives the ideal device for the niche. I would call this niche an immigrant.[hide]HUAWEI P8 REVIEWS[/hide]
Review # 2
Impressions after a week of use (model Huawei P8 GRA- L09 ):
1. The screen is 4/5.
The colors are good, juicy. Brightness is enough, but for a comfortable level, you must set at least 60% in the room. Auto-tuning of brightness is not bad, but in low light often “misses”. In the sun, the Eran is tolerable, but full brightness is needed (100%)
. 2. Response 4/5
No problems were noticed during the week. Everything is pretty smooth, there are almost no slowdowns (I must note that in heavy, and indeed in any games I do not play). Very rarely noticed that there are very small “mini-lags”. At the same time, the gallery with several thousand forographies opens and scrolls almost instantly
. 3. Soft (of firmware B161) 5/5
In my purely subjective opinion is a very thoughtful and convenient firmware. I got used to the principle of desktops (I’m well acquainted with various versions of MIUI and NubiaUI) and scattered all unnecessary folders. Many successful “pleasures” – for example, detailed statistics of energy consumption, including consumption in mA for each application.
4. Energy consumption 3/5.
Here I have the biggest claim to the device. On “paper” the battery is not small (2680mA). For screen 5.2 and resolution FHD is not bad (although of course 3000 would have been generally good, it was so thin on the fig, it would have added 1.5mm of thickness, but it would be possible to insert more battery into the case), but apparently, the optimization is lame.

Sadness.
Nubia (with a slightly smaller screen and a slightly larger battery) stood for 10 hours.[hide]HUAWEI P8 REVIEWS[/hide]
Whatsup in the background (and if you kill it when the screen turns off, then there’s no point and use), too, for some reason it’s pretty voracious (none of this was the case).

In general, the device is not bad. Well lies in the hand, cute (subjectively), with a quality screen, quite bright and easy to use. Comparing it with my previous Nubia Z9 Mini (crashed, unfortunately), the latter is definitely better, especially on energy and screen (Nubia and 70% brightness in direct sun and 30% in the room was enough).
Review # 3
At the end of last month, bought this miracle Huawei P8 GRA UL-10, the general impression for a short period of use:
- good camera
- I liked the design (actually because of it and bought, the color of Champagne, bought in China in the store), watched 2 colors of Champagne and Gold, Gold looked more like a glamorous phone, but the Chinese just did not sell it, and the Bluetooth headset was spared for + 300 CNY to him (from the standard price of 3588CNY), and then you could buy Gold.
- application for the control of food intake, if well played, then for me it adds up to 3-4 hours of phone life.
- The function of cutting the screen image with the knuckle of a finger (for me it’s really convenient)
- EMUI I saw the first time, I liked it, different pictures when unlocked, messages when the screen is locked, etc.
Did not like:
- the film on the screen, gets dirty, for me, it remains a mystery why put super fashion glass, and on top of the film.
- not complete localization of the firmware, moreover, it is updated frequently, so it was not possible to completely get rid of the Chinese Labuda,
- I understand this model GRA UL-10 will be only for the domestic market, respectively, in new firmware gaps will not be sewn;[hide]HUAWEI P8 REVIEWS[/hide]
