Google tests the intelligent search function for the GBoard on-screen keyboard, which will change the “G” button if it finds a suitable GIF, information or a sticker for the typed text. For example, if you print a celebrity name, the “G” button turns into a search icon. Clicking on it will lead to the appearance of a card with the result of a search for this celebrity. If, however, write a greeting, the «G» button will turn into an icon GIF. By clicking on it, you can see some animated images. It’s not surprising, after all, the current version of Gboard allows users to find GIFs, stickers, emoji or information quickly. But instead of requiring the user to search for them on their own, the new feature will automatically offer ready-made options.
Google is testing this update since July, and it’s not known when it will launch this function if it starts at all. However, more users recently joined the test. It’s still a matter of time whether the keyboard will be sufficiently developed to have ready GIFs for all queries.
