Asus company at the beginning of the year at CES 2018 presented a rather curious accessory for PC called ROG Spotlight, and now our Japanese colleagues from Akiba PC Hotline! Discovered it in Tokyo electronics stores.
The device is made in a cylindrical casing, and at first glance, it seems that this is a web camera. However, its purpose is diametrically opposite – it is a projector. True, it can only display the Republic of Gamers logo on any flat surface. This is somewhat reminiscent of the beta signal, only in miniature. There is also support for Asus Aura, so the color of the logo can be adjusted to the color of the lighting of other components of the system.
A standard USB connector is used to connect to the system. The ROG Spotlight projector is equipped with a stand that allows you to change the angle and direction. The distance to which the image can be projected is from 20 to 100 cm. The dimensions of the device leave 50 × 54 × 30.2 mm, and it weighs 123 grams. The cost of the Asus ROG Spotlight in the Japanese market was about 38 US dollars, in terms of the current exchange rate.
