Asus company at the conference IFA 2018 showed the public the updated laptops-transformers ZenBook Flip 13 and ZenBook Flip 15. Changes affected not only the technical component – the frame around the display became noticeably thinner. This allowed reducing the size by about 10 percent, in comparison with its predecessors. Also, laptops have acquired recently announced processors Intel Whiskey Lake-U.
Asus ZenBook Flip 13
The laptop has a 13.3-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution, which occupies 90 percent of the panel area. The base model uses a new Intel Core i5-8265U chip, and a version with Core i7-8565U will be available. As for RAM, then the choice is either 8 GB or 16 GB. Also in the laptop is an SSD-drive for 256 or 512 GB. The battery capacity of the device is 50 Wh. Also worth noting is that there is no HDMI port. In the novelty, NumberPad technology is implemented, that is, the touchpad is combined with a numeric keypad. Dimensions of the laptop – 305h196h16, 9 mm with a weight of 1.3 kg.
Asus ZenBook Flip 15
The novelty has acquired a screen diagonal of 15.6 inches with a resolution of Full HD, or 4K. As for the processors used, there is no difference between the younger and older models. The only difference is that in the older one only 16 GB of RAM is available, but the constant can be expanded by installing an HDD-drive with a volume of up to 2 TB. Also, ZenBook Flip 15 received a slightly more capacious battery at 57 Wh, in addition, there is a version at 86 Wh. Still, unlike the younger model, the older one has HDMI video output. In the maximum configuration is available and discrete graphics NVIDIA GTX 1050. The device dimensions – 357h226h20, 9 mm with a weight of 1.9 kg.
Both laptops are equipped with an infrared camera for working with Windows Hello and Harman Kardon audio system. About when the updated line of Asus laptops will appear on the shelves and how many devices will cost, is still unknown.
