In the foreseeable future, the AMD AM4 range will be expanded with four models of the Pinnacle Ridge family, two of which will be the successors to the inexpensive “four-core” Ryzen 5 1500X and the Ryzen 3 1300X (Summit Ridge), and two more – more economical, but less efficient versions of the eight-core Ryzen 7 2700 and a six-core Ryzen 5 2600. Information about the new CPUs briefly appeared on the page listing the AM4 processors supported by the ASRock AB350M Pro4 motherboard.
The transfer of Ryzen processors to a 12-nanometer technological standard allowed to slightly increase their nominal frequencies with respect to previous-generation models. According to ASRock, the upcoming Ryzen 5 2500X CPU will be 100 MHz faster than the Ryzen 5 1500X. The company will be made by another newcomer, Ryzen 3 2300X, operating at the same nominal frequency as Ryzen 3 1300X – 3.5 GHz. Optimization of dynamic acceleration algorithms will certainly increase the frequencies and performance of quad-core Pinnacle Ridge in real applications. True, this requires support for XFR 2 Enhanced and Precision Boost Overdrive at the chipset level (AMD X470, B450).

The Ryzen 5 2500X has a noticeable advantage over the Ryzen 3 2300X due to the dual level of a cache memory of the third level (16 MB) and SMT technology support.
Processors Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E with 45DP passport TDP are of interest for those wishing to assemble a low-noise or fanless PC. It is not yet clear whether they will get a free multiplier and whether the impressive L3 cache volume will be 16 MB, like Ryzen 7 2700 (X) and Ryzen 5 2600 (X). The eight-core model with the suffix “E” operates at frequencies from 2.8 GHz, and the six-core model – from 3.1 GHz.
